Use a powerful Explorer replacement
FmEdit98 is a powerful Swiss Army knife for your Windows 95/98/NT PC. First and foremost, it's a replacement for Windows Explorer that enables you to perform common file operations such as copy, move, rename and delete files, create folders and shortcuts, run programs, and just about everything else you've come to expect from Explorer. A menu item is available to double the power, turning FmEdit98 into a dual-Explorer interface. Context menus and drag-and-drop are fully supported. When not running in dual mode, the right-hand pane exposes several powerful utilities that the program automatically employs as file viewers. These include a large-file text editor; an HTML viewer/editor; a graphics viewer that supports most popular image formats (even animated GIFs); and a full-featured ZIP utility that supports spanned ZIP files, password protection, self-extracting ZIP files, and more. Context menus are available to access the powerful features of each utility. Other features include a Hex editor, font viewer, calendar, and calculator. On the downside, FmEdit98 is rather slow loading (though speed isn't an issue once it's up and running) and behaves rather oddly in regard to window size and position. Running it maximized eliminates this quirky behavior. All in all, FmEdit98 is an astonishingly powerful program that replaces $100 worth of important utilities -- and does it well and for free! Online help is included.
